We went to Puxton Park again as Oscar really liked it last time. Aside from the JCB play area and the toy tractors there was lots to see; I'll stop babbling as you can just look at the pictures...
Yes, these days it almost sounds old hat and unfashionable to start a blog but it seems like a sensible way to share our news with friends and family. Now I'm no longer just a geek but, with my partner Nicky and son Oscar, part of a lovely family I'd like to start a diary. We live in Shepton Mallet and are really enjoying our time in and around the Mendip Hills, we're surrounded by such wonderful countryside.

Mells revisited
The last time we went to Mells for a walk it tipped down with rain, this time the weather was lovely though!

Oscar insisted on being clipped on to the dog lead; we don't take him out for a walk! |

Near Burrington, Somerset
Burrington is a lovely place for a walk, I'd recommend looking it up on an OS map. We'd been for a long run round there together on a day off and decided to take Oscar there too.

A walk in the woods by King Alfred's Tower
We went to a favourite walking spot; the woods by King Alfred's Tower in Brewham. It was part of the Stourhead estate and the tower itself is a folly built on the grounds.
It was spring at the time and all the blue bells were flowering, Oscar called them jingles as they look like bells.

Easter cake making 2012
In a series of backdated posts that I'm posting in Septemner I'll start with this all the way back in... Easter.
Nicky and Oscar made a Simnel Cake, well Nicky made it and Oscar helped to decorate it although he got a bit carried away pushing down the mini eggs.

Open day at the Exmoor Pony Centre
After seeing the Exmoors on Exmoor and nearer home we decided to make a visit to the Exmoor Pony Centre on their open day. It's a very nice centre staffed by volunteers.
Oscar got to groom a couple of ponies although he's too small to go for a ride on them. Perhaps on a visit in the not so distant future.

They are very distinctive with their white tipped face and 'toad' eyes. |
