Puxton park revisited

We went to Puxton Park again as Oscar really liked it last time.  Aside from the JCB play area and the toy tractors there was lots to see; I'll stop babbling as you can just look at the pictures...

Wartime in Westbury

This year for Mick's birthday the theme was wartime.  It was educational and entertaining; as always a fantastic spread by Mum and Dad although there were spam fritters which were avoided by most!

We went as aviators and Oscar had a serious piece of cake (for the first time...)

I don't normally like these apps that mess around with photos but was quite taken by papercam

Lovely Lou

Oscar can't stay still you know

CAKEs

When we thought he couldn't make it Meric made a surprise appearance, well done old bean!

Puxton Park

It was about time we took Oscar to an Animal Park, he really enjoyed it at Puxton Park.  Apart from the toy tractors, JCBs in the sand pit and soft play area he really liked the owls.

I have no idea what the problem was but this owl took a serious dislike to me; I am aware of how silly that sounds...

No Oscar we don't squash small animals...

Frome (Cheese (and Agriculture)) Show

Today was the annual Frome Show.  It was super!

We didn't punish ourselves, as we usually do, and left the dogs at home; just worrying about Oscar is enough for us to deal with.

Dog trials
Friendly Axe Men, yes friendly!

Super sheep!

Crazy horns

HUGE, horned cows

Loads of varieties of goats

Again, a high quality of show jumping

Amazing oversized vegetables

Stunning flowers

WOW

Onions, yes this are gargantuan Onions

Sets of dressed onions

Nicky's hand in shot, just incase you didn't get the scale

Nicky was playing with exposure to get this alien flower shot

This array of giant veg was on display as you entered the horticultural tent

The Shepton Show (aka The Mid-Somerset Show)

This was our first year to go to the Shepton Show.  It's a large, free, show very similar, but on a smaller scale, to the Royal Bath and West Show.

Not as many tractors as at Yesterday's farming but the Ferguson club had a wonderful line up.

Some fantastically smoothly running steam engines were on show

Oscar was very keen on the Owl but, perhaps sensibly, scared up close.

We were impressed at the quality of the show jumping
